Help Us Protect Young Smiles in the Rural India.
Through our Smiling School Program, we’ve had the privilege of visiting some of the remotest regions —places of peace ,calm and full of nature but lacking basic infrastructure, especially healthcare. Over the years, roads have reached most villages, making life more accessible. However, with these roads has come a troubling increase in the availability of sweets, candies and junk food which is now easily found in regions where only essentials were prioritised before due to logistical issues.
The Impact on Children’s Dental Health:
- 80-90% of Children Affected by Decay: Our work has revealed alarming decay rates among children, with 80-90% suffering from varying levels of dental decay.
- Untreated Decay Leads to Serious Problems: What begins as a small cavity in primary school often progresses to advanced, sometimes untreatable, decay by the time these children reach secondary level.
The Smiling School Program’s Intervention:
Since 2022, we have focused on children from primary to upper primary classes (Standards 1 to 8). Our aim is simple but crucial:
- Catch Decay Early: Early detection allows us to treat dental issues before they become severe.
- Preventive Treatment and Awareness: We provide essential treatments and educate children on proper oral care, helping them avoid future problems.
- Engaging Children Early: We have developed innovative tools to engage children at this critical age when habits can be shaped easily, guiding them towards lifelong oral health.
Why Your Support Matters:
By sponsoring just a few children, you can help us stop this cycle of decay and give them a healthier, brighter future. Your contribution will provide preventive care and dental treatments for children who might otherwise face a lifetime of pain and health complications.
Together, we can ensure that no child suffers from preventable dental issues. Sponsor a child today and help us bring lasting change to these remote communities.
