HMDENT FOUNDATION Dental Health Camp at JHS Dwara: Day 3 Highlights
(26/09/2024)

The final day of the HIMDENT FOUNDATION’s free dental health camp at JHS Dwara, marking Day 3 of our third visit, was another significant step forward in our mission to improve dental health for students in rural Himalayan areas. As the camp came to a close, we proudly reflected on the impact we made over the past few days.

Treatment Focus: Class 7 and 8 Students

On this last day, we focused on providing treatments for students in Classes 7 and 8. Our dedicated team worked diligently, completing 12 dental fillings for 7 students. Each child received personalized care, with a strong emphasis on long-term oral health. As they left with brighter, healthier smiles, they also gained valuable knowledge about maintaining their dental hygiene.

An Orientation for the Teachers

In addition to the treatments, we held a special session for the teachers of GIC and JHS Dwara. Dr. Aditya Vohra delivered an insightful orientation lecture, covering essential topics like preventive dental care, early intervention, and strategies to inspire students to maintain healthy dental habits. The teachers were highly impressed by Dr. Vohra’s clear and impactful communication. Many expressed gratitude for the knowledge and planned to incorporate dental health lessons into their curriculum.

A Milestone Achievement

By the end of the third day, the camp had achieved a significant milestone—completing 47 permanent restorations in 26 students. This accomplishment is a testament to the dedication and skill of the Himdent team, as well as the enthusiasm and cooperation of the students and their families. The positive feedback from students and teachers alike reflects the growing impact of our efforts on the community.

A Shared Commitment to Oral Health

The support from the school’s staff and the community was crucial to the success of this camp. The teachers’ newfound understanding of dental care will help sustain the impact of our work long after the camp’s conclusion. Together, we have taken important steps toward a future where dental health is prioritized, even in the most remote areas.

Looking Back and Ahead

As we wrap up the camp, we take pride in the difference we’ve made. The knowledge shared and the treatments provided will leave a lasting legacy in the community, promoting better oral health for years to come. The HIMDENT FOUNDATION remains committed to continuing its journey of bringing dental care to those who need it most.
