In an effort to extend essential oral health services to underprivileged communities, Himdent Foundation organised a two-day free dental treatment health camp under its flagship Smiling Schools programme at Government Primary School Hanumanti. The initiative was aimed at promoting preventive dental care and providing on-spot treatment to school children in remote areas with limited access to oral healthcare.
Day 1 – Awareness and Check-up:
The programme began with the setting up of a dental unit within the school. The dental team conducted an engaging oral health awareness session to educate students about the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene using child-friendly language and visuals.
Day 2 – Treatment and Preventive Care:
Children suffering from dental problems were treated on-spot by experienced qualified dentist. The interventions included permanent fillings, scaling and personal hygiene counselling to ensure long-term effects. The team ensured that each child was treated carefully. This approach not only reduced fear and anxiety but also fostered trust.
The dental camp concluded with the promise of a daily hygiene routine. we thank the school staff and who participated in the camp.
